Materials: RCCP/Connected & Respected Manual p.29; “Today I Feel Silly & Other Moods That Make My Day” by Jamie Lee Curtis

Time: 20 minutes

Goals: ~Review and check for understanding feelings named in core lesson 6.

~Give concrete examples to students of when different feelings occur in every day life.

Describe Lesson Steps:

1. Review feelings intro’d in core lesson by having students “popcorn” out ideas.

2. “Today we’re going to read a book by Jamie Lee Curtis that shows us some of the times we may have these feelings.”

3. Read story.

4. Discuss---Lead students in connected with the situations and feelings portrayed in the book. “Has anyone else felt frustrated like this little girl? What else has made you frustrated? Thumbs up if you’ve ever felt excited about making plans with a friend…show me with your face how you would feel if those plans got canceled or didn’t work out at the last minute.”


None. I would just keep track of those students that seemed to be confused by certain feeling names or situations when certain feelings happen.
